"You Make Me Brave" by Bethel ft. Amanda Cook
Scripture:
Matthew 14:25-30
Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Devotion:
We all struggle with a fear in some way, shape, or form. It might be bugs, drowning, storms, roller coasters, doctors' offices, or even as simple as someone popping up out of nowhere. Our anxiety could build up over time or could happen suddenly, but regardless, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. You are not alone in the sense that there are other people who may suffer with similar fears. But you are also not alone because the Holy Spirit is WITH YOU. Through the Holy Spirit, God gives you the strength to become brave! So when you start to become anxious, take a deep breath and talk to God.
Prayer:
God, Thank You for making me brave. You are my strength and peace. Help me be bold like Peter to step out in my faith and focus on You. I know with You, my fears are gone completely! Thank You! Amen.
I made this one a part of my music FAVS
Yes, Lord....help me to be brave and bold in your strength alone. Amen.
