"Lead Me" by Sanctus Real
Scripture:
Genesis 18:19
For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.
Devotion:
Parenthood is so underestimated with the amount of effort that it takes to raise a child. As a mother and wife, I have my moments where I just need a break to rest my mind and I rely on my husband to help with our son. And to be honest, we struggled as a family to figure out how to rely on each other. My husband had a difficult time learning to balance two jobs plus being a husband and father and still wanting to have his own time to himself. He often felt inadequate as a father, which hurt my heart to see. After several tough months, my amazing husband did what anyone would do in desperate times- cry out to God for help. He has overcome barriers and we have figured out systems and communication that has helped our family thrive and enjoy each other to the fullest! When you do not feel like you are enough, turn to our Heavenly Father for guidance. He will lead you in the right direction.
Prayer:
Father, Thank You for giving us incredible fathers and father-figures in our lives. They are a testament to who You are and Your unconditional love for us. I pray for the men in our lives, whether they are fathers or not, that they continue to pursue You and be role models for others. Amen.
Thnks, but im not much of a father. i have too many of my own hurts and unhealed issues. but im workin on it.
